Job Description

Transcover are an established design and manufacturer of commercial vehicle sheeting systems for the haulage industry. We are seeking a proactive and organised individual to take ownership of implementing and maintaining recommendations from our Health & Safety consultants. This is a key administrative and coordination role -- ensuring that all safety-related actions are followed through, documented, and budgeted for, while keeping senior management informed of immediate and ongoing priorities.

The successful candidate will combine a solid understanding of health and safety with strong administrative, communication, and reporting skills. They will be comfortable managing practical on-site issues, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring that our workplace remains compliant, safe, and well-organised.

Responsibilities:



Health & Safety Administration



Review, track, and implement recommendations made by external Health & Safety consultants.

Budgeting & Planning



Work with management to cost out and plan for any Health & Safety-related improvements, equipment, or training needs throughout the year. Prepare annual and ongoing Health & Safety budget recommendations. Support the GM/MD in prioritising expenditure based on risk, compliance deadlines, and operational needs.

Communication & Reporting



Provide weekly updates to the General Manager and Managing Director highlighting: Outstanding actions and progress updates Any new issues or urgent risks identified Upcoming compliance or maintenance deadlines Act as the key contact between staff, management, and external safety advisors. Encourage a culture of safety awareness and accountability across the company.

Person Specification



Essential Qualities



Excellent organisational and administrative skills with great attention to detail. A confident communicator able to work across departments and with senior management. Practical, proactive, and able to prioritise workload effectively. Comfortable dealing with paperwork, compliance systems, and scheduling tasks. Able to take ownership of ongoing actions and ensure they are completed.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience



Prior experience in a Health & Safety administrative or coordinator role. Basic knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, risk assessments, and audits. IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent qualification (or willingness to complete). Experience working within manufacturing, engineering, logistics, or similar operational environments. Competent in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook).

Maintain all compliance records, safety documentation, risk assessments, and training logs. Ensure policies, procedures, and documentation are up-to-date and reflect current legal requirements and best practices. Coordinate routine safety checks, audits, and inspections across departments. Maintain a register of corrective actions and ensure timely completion.
