This role is office based Monday to Friday

(no weekends!)

, 8am to 4pm, with circa 129 colleagues to support across the business.

The salary banding depends on experience and qualifications, ranging between 47,500.00 and 55,000.00 plus an annual discretionary bonus scheme!

Duties



Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health. Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated. Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting. Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations. Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated and recommended improvements implemented. Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections, risk assessments and lone working procedures are managed and employees are aware of their responsibilities. Coordinate the development of health & safety policies, systems of work and procedures. Manages the Company's Environmental & Sustainability strategy. Ensure full and accurate health and safety and training records are maintained. Establish a full programme of documented health & safety inspections, audits and checks. Establish a structured programme of health & safety training throughout the Company. Manage and devise the agenda for, chair and formulate & distribute minutes for the Health & Safety Committee meetings. Ensure that all agreed action points are completed within deadlines. Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business. Provide regular reports to the Board of Directors/Senior Management Team on relevant Health & Safety, Environmental and Sustainability activities. Manage and prioritise the maintenance of the Company's facilities ensuring that work is carried out to the highest standards, within the required timescales and in the most cost effective way. Responsible for compiling and implementation of the Environmental and Sustainability aspects of the business including policies and procedures, keeping up to date with all changes to legislation and any trends / incentives with the assistance of the Environmental and Sustainability Coordinator. Mentoring and developing the Environmental and Sustainability Coordinator, providing clear support and guidance. Carrying out all line manager responsibilities including performance reviews, appraisals and formal meetings. Conducting Company Inductions for all new colleagues and agency colleagues joining the business, ensuring understanding, company and legal requirements are met. Working closely with other divisions within the business, in particular Technical, Production and Human Resources, along with the wider business.

Skills



Proficient in root cause analysis techniques to effectively identify underlying issues. Strong knowledge of first aid practices and emergency response procedures. Excellent report writing skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with all levels of staff. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating leadership in health and safety initiatives. Have a strong Health and Safety Ethic to drive cultural change At least 3 years recent and relevant experience in a similar role NEBOSH (General Certificate) qualified COSHH Trained Proven experience of Environmental management Proven experience of Facilities management An ability to advise to Directors/managers/supervisors Experience of formulating, implementing and revising H&S policies and procedures Professional approach, coupled with strong interpersonal skills. Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills Ability to work on own initiative Ability to work in, and adapt to a rapidly changing environment
