Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care across various settings, including outpatient clinics, urgent care, Care Homes and hospital environments. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient service skills, and the ability to work effectively in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Duties

Assist healthcare professionals in delivering patient care by performing vital sign checks, intake assessments, and medication administration. Support patients with daily activities and ensure their comfort during medical procedures. Maintain accurate patient records using EHR systems and assist with ICD coding as necessary. Collaborate with nursing staff to provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and perform basic life support when required. Engage with patients to provide education on health management and treatment plans. Participate in the preparation of patients for examinations or procedures in various departments such as dermatology, emergency medicine, or surgery (OR experience). Assist in the management of patients in specialized areas such as PICU, geriatrics, internal medicine, and medical-surgical units.

Experience

Candidates should possess a solid foundation in healthcare practices with experience or knowledge in the following areas:

Dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient clinic experience. Familiarity with basic life support techniques and vital signs monitoring. Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology knowledge, and understanding of ICD coding. Previous hospital experience is preferred; Level I or Level II trauma center experience is a plus. Experience working with various patient populations including inpatient care and emergency medicine.
