Job Description

We are looking for 2 part time candidates, who wish to grow and develop into a full General Practice Healthcare Assistant Role.
We will consider applications from established HCA's/Phlebotomists and also any candidates that are committed to undertake the training to develop in to this role.
We are offering hours between 20hrs per week to 37.5hrs per week and are flexible on this so please contact us if you have any queries.
The role is busy and varied, working in a friendly and supportive team with plenty of opportunity for personal growth.
The right candidate/candidate's should be friendly with a warm and empathetic manner and have excellent people skills. They should also be committed to providing high quality patient care.

Main duties of the job
Undertake new patient health checks & vascular health checks
ECGs
Phlebotomy
Spirometry
Chaperoning duties
Smoking cessation clinics
Weight management clinics
Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by Drs /nurses
Cleansing and maintenance of clinical equipment
Vaccine and cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations as and when directed and trained to do so
Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being.

The Woodlands team is friendly and supportive and committed to training and development.
The practice is an accredited training practice and we currently take GP Registrars, medical students and student nurses.
The patient population is approximately 11,500 and the practice is in an accessible city location.
The practice has great public transport links as we are a short walk from Cambridge train station where the guided bus also stops.
