Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and urgent care facilities. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient service, and the ability to work effectively in both inpatient and outpatient environments.

Duties

Assist healthcare professionals with patient intake and ensure accurate documentation of medical histories. Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature. Provide basic life support as needed and assist in medication administration under supervision. Support patients with daily activities and personal care to enhance their comfort and well-being. Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation and retrieval of patient information. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinical environment to ensure safety and efficiency. Participate in emergency response situations as required, particularly in urgent care or trauma settings.

Skills

Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. Experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or internal medicine is preferred. Familiarity with ICD coding for accurate billing and documentation. Ability to perform X-ray procedures or assist in the operating room (OR) is a plus. Experience working in Level I or Level II trauma centers is advantageous. Strong skills in patient service and communication to foster positive relationships with patients and families. Previous experience in medical-surgical units, PICU, geriatrics, or outpatient clinics is beneficial. Competence in using EHR systems for efficient patient management.
