Job Introduction
As a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant, you will be an integral member of the multidisciplinary team on the Ward, providing high-quality support to the registered nurses in delivering care to a range of complex patients. You will work with increasing autonomy under the guidance of senior staff and contribute to the ongoing care and well-being of inpatients.
Your role will involve assisting in the care of patients with diverse and sometimes complex healthcare needs, including those with life-limiting conditions, patients at the end of life, and individuals requiring support to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions or enable a swift discharge. You will play a key part in ensuring these patients receive the appropriate care and support to meet their clinical needs, helping to manage their physical and emotional well-being.
In this role, you will take on a responsibility contributing to clinical tasks such as taking observations, assisting in the preparation and monitoring of treatment plans, and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of patient care. You will be expected to show initiative, use your growing clinical knowledge, and support the Ward team in the day-to-day care of patients.
This is a dynamic and varied role where no two days are the same. As you work closely with patients and the multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills, while making a tangible difference to the care and recovery of those who need it most. The position is full-time (37.5 hours per week) based at Gravesham Community Hospital, where our services continue to evolve to meet the diverse needs of our local population.
