Job Description
Clinical and Nursing Support Duties Phlebotomy NHS Health Checks Blood Pressure Monitoring Urinalysis ECG Recording Assist Minor Surgery Clinics/Contraceptive Implant Clinics Ensure specimens are labelled, bagged and ready for collection Ensure clinical waste (incl sharps bins) collection runs smoothly, reporting any problems to the Nurse Practitioner Ensure clinical rooms are kept clean and tidy, remove bins, dirty utensils/instruments Change bedrolls and curtains Restocking of clinical areas and consulting rooms Order of stocks and supplies as required Use of appropriate Infection Control Procedures reporting any risks to the Nurse Practitioner as set out in the practice policy Know basic first aid/resuscitation and be able to undertake initial actions as appropriate Chaperoning Administrative Duties Patient Lisaon for QOF/Recalls and any other requests from colleagues (contacting patients to attend surgery) Assist in seasonal/special projects as required e.g. Flu campaign/Shingles/Pneumonia/MMR catch up/Staff immunisation Attend and participate in practice meetings Management of appointments reporting any issues to the Nurse Practitioner
