We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Primary Care team at HMP Isle of Wight, a category B prison located in Isle of Wight.
HMP Isle of Wight is an adult male prison. We are recruiting for Healthcare Assistants to support the primary care team.
Hours
You must be able to work any of the below shift patterns on a rota basis - Will include weekends, nights and bank holidays.
0730 - 2000
1930 - 0800
0730 - 1730
0800 - 1730
Salary
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to 30684 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care
• Be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Qualifications required

• NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care
• A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
• Excellent communication skills
• Good IT skills and IT literacy
• Ability to work within a busy environment
• Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment
