We have a fantastic opportunity for a Substance Misuse Healthcare Assistant to join the team at HMP Leeds, a busy category B prison located in Leeds Centre.





This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care. This role offers excellent developmental opportunities and is a great environment to build on your experience within primary care. We are looking for someone with a real passion for helping others - this role allows you to make a real difference to patients!

Hours:

This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week, working a variety of shifts between Monday and Sunday. This role involves working weekends and nights.

Shifts are 07:00 - 20:30 and 20:00 - 07:30. Weekends are around 2 per month.



Salary:



This position is full time , you'll receive an annual salary of up to 29,723 per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing




As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:



Working closely with the wider healthcare team across the site Carry out clinical duties - venepuncture, screenings, ECGs etc Assist with vaccinations and clinics Provide outstanding quality based care to all patients Deliver personalised, non judgemental care, based on patient feedback Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics Support the nursing and pharmacy teams onsite Assist with release and discharge when needed

Our new Healthcare Assistant will:
Have experience within a care environment - ideally primary care Clinical experience, such as venepuncture, ECGs etc would be highly desirable! Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team Ideally hold a NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or equivalent - this isn't essential! Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach
