We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Primary Care team at HMP Brixton, a category B/C prison located in London.
HMP Brixton is now a Category B/C male prison housing men on remand. Our patients needs will vary greatly however this role will be focused withing the Early Days in Custody
Hours
Day shift - 37.5 hours per week
Shift patterns are 0800 - 2000
Working on a rota basis including weekdays, weekends and Bank Holidays.
Salary
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to 32,134 per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care
• Be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Qualifications required

• NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care
• A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
• Excellent communication skills
• Good IT skills and IT literacy
• Ability to work within a busy environment
• Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment
