We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Primary Care team at HMP Full Sutton. HMP Full Sutton is a Category A mens prison near Pocklington. It is a half an hour drive from York city centre. The prison is purpose built and has capacity to hold 560 men in conditions of high security. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team, and work in a varied environment, where you will gain experience across primary care, including emergency response, working on the wings, clinics, health promotion, and more! No 2 days are the same in this challenging, yet rewarding and supportive environment. Hours: This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week, usually 4 long shifts. You will predominantly work day shifts Monday - Sunday, but occasional nights will be required. Weekends are around 1 in 4. Salary: This position is full time , youll receive an annual salary of up to 29,723 per annum - depending on experience. How will we support you?

Main duties of the job
As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

• Working within the primary care team, you will work with Nurses and Nursing Associates across the service
• Run health clinics on the wings and in the healthcare department. Clinics include bloods, wound care and health promotion
• Assist with clinical observations, vaccination clinics etc
• Provide outstanding quality based care to all patients
• Deliver personalised, non judgemental care, based on patient feedback
• Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics
• Support the nursing and pharmacy teams onsite

• Hold a NVQ Level 2 / 3 in Health & Social Care, or equivalent work experience

• Although not essential, your own vehicle would be beneficial due to the location of the site
