Job Title: Healthcare Assistant

Hours: 37.5

Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience.

We have 1 full time post available, and we are looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join our team.

Norfolk Street Surgery is in Shelton and provides care to over 20,000 patients. We are a friendly and supportive 2 partner practice with a multi-professional team including GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and Physician Assistants. We are a training practice and provide training to GP Registrars, Foundation Trainees and Medical Students.

Duties will include but not exhaustive:

Phlebotomy ECGs Blood Pressure Diabetic Foot Checks. Administering B12, Influenza vaccine, Pneumococcal vaccine, Shingles vaccines and Flu Vaccine. Assisting with Minor Surgery procedures NHS health checks Completing FAAs Lifestyle checks Stock Management Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations Visit care homes when required Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being Surgical assistant for vasectomies
Recording Information:

Record information and activities undertaken with patients and carers in an accurate and timely fashion using EMIS. Strong IT skills for documentation and record keeping. Maintain confidentiality of information relating to patients, carers, relatives, staff and the practice. Take the required precautions when providing information including following GDPR.
Qualifications:
NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care / Care Certificate

Disclosure and Barring Service Check: The successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

Job Type: Permanent.

Working hours are between:

8.30am - 6.30pm Monday - Friday
Ability to commute/relocate: Shelton ST1 4PB: reliably commute (required)

Experience: Primary Care: 1 year (preferred)
