We are looking to appoint a part time Health Care Assistant to work 22.5 hours per week based at Bunnyhill. The role involves working alone, visiting patients in their own home and providing care in a clinic in our Wound Care Hubs under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The core hours of work are between 8am-6pm across a 7 day week however there may be a requirement to work extended hours dependent on service demands. You must be a car driver and have access to a vehicle.

Training will be available and candidates will be supported with an induction and a personal development plan. Full support will be given to those without community experience to gain the necessary skills required.
It is essential you possess good communication and organisational skills, and are able to work under pressure. You must be able to demonstrate a caring and compassionate attitude in all aspects of care delivery.
Main duties of the job
Community Nurses are required to provide a range of skilled, holistic nursing care to patients in their own homes, and within wound care clinics in various localities across Sunderland. You will work within a district nursing team consisting of District Nurse specialist practitioner and registered nurses. You will work under the direction / supervision of a registered nurse delivering high quality nursing care to patients within the community setting including residential homes.
You must also be able to meet the travel requirements of the post and be a car owner and driver.
