We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Primary Care team at HMP Dovegate, a catergory B men's prison located in Staffordshire.
Hours
The site currently offers 37.5 hours per week. 3 long days a week 0645 am - 1815 pm 0745 am - 1815 pm (weekends and BH) (one shift- 2015 finish) 1 in 3 weekends required
Salary
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to 24,669 - 28,690 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care
• Be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.
• Second checking medications, helping/running clinics & supporting first responses.

Qualifications required

• NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care
• A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
• Excellent communication skills
• Good IT skills and IT literacy
• Ability to work within a busy environment
• Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment
