About the Role

Walton Medical Centre are looking for an experienced heath care assistant to join our busy and rewarding medical centre. This role can be offered on a full-time or part-time basis, with flexibility on days and hours.



The role will include the following;


Assisting patients with clinical requirements Liaising with clinical staff for healthcare needs Carrying out health checks Updating clinical systems ###

About the Candidate

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and pro-active health care assistant. The ideal candidate would have the following experience:
Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 Experience of working with, and building up working relationships with GP's, nursing and admin staff. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to work well on their own as well as working in a team, and must have a strong understanding of confidentiality.

About Us

Walton Medical Practice is situated in the traditional seaside resort of Walton on the Naze, on the Essex Coast. They have a list size of just over 8300 patients. As well as 2 partners and 2 salaried GP's, the practice team also includes a pharmacy technician, paramedic, a nursing team of 10 and an efficient and effective reception and administrative team of 18.



The Colte Partnership is a GP super-partnership, formed in June 2017. It brought together 9 local GP surgeries across Colchester and Tendring, serving approx. 98,000 patients. With the combined workforce, skills and knowledge, we are in a unique position to assist our patients across the county.



As well as general practice, we offer Extended Access appointments to enable all of our patients to access medical care at evening and weekends; we work collaboratively with external agencies to provide in home services and Social Prescribing; we are working to be at the forefront of clinical research; and have many more exciting ventures on the horizon.



We also work as three collaborative Primary Care Networks (PCN's) which span across Colchester and Tendring:


Ambrose Avenue Group Practice, Riverside Medical Centre and Ardleigh Surgery Mersea Island Medical Practice, Tiptree Medical Centre and Rowhedge Medical Centre Walton Medical Centre, Colne Medical Centre and Wivenhoe Medical Centre
There is a wide socio-economic and demographic served within this area which will provide an interesting and varied case mix. You will be joining an enthusiastic team of clinicians and administrators. You will be well supported with on-going professional development (training support, CPD and peer support). The role will contribute to the improving quality of care of our patients across the network of practices.
