What you will be doing
You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with mental health conditions, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recover pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.
Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.
It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you've made someone's life better.
The shift pattern is 12.5 hours a day, 3-4 days a week including nights and weekends.

T Grosvenor hospital, Brenig ward offers specialist therapies and treatments for men with a Mental Illness and/or Personality Disorder. Alwen Ward provides rapid-response care for men experiencing a mental health crisis. The ethos of the service is Work, Rest and Play and focuses on equipping service users with the appropriate skills for community living.
There is significant emphasis on accessing mainstream resources within the local community, providing patients with opportunity to develop robust community skills. The service is located in Wrexham, North Wales and just a short walk away from the town centre, cafes, restaurants, leisure facilities and local colleges. Using community resource will assist patients in generating social networks external to the service that can be utilised upon discharge from the service, mitigating potential relapse or isolation.
