We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. Duties
Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration.
Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive environment.
Implement behaviour management strategies to support individuals with challenging behaviours.
Maintain accurate records of patient care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate professionals.
Assist with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring the safety of both the client and yourself.
Engage clients in social activities and encourage participation in community events.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including first aid protocols, to ensure a safe environment for both clients and staff.
Skills
Proficiency in medical terminology is advantageous for effective communication within the healthcare setting.
Experience in patient care, particularly within a care home or senior care environment, is highly desirable.
Knowledge of medication administration procedures is essential for supporting clients' health needs.
Strong behaviour management skills to effectively handle various situations that may arise during care provision.
Ability to drive is beneficial for transporting clients as needed.
Competence in heavy lifting techniques to assist clients with mobility challenges.
Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families while working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
