We have exciting opportunities for experienced care workers wanting to join the NHS with positions across our three Trauma & Orthopaedic specialist wards.
Come and join us on November 4th between 10:30am and 2:30pm in the East Atrium at NNUH. We will be celebrating the incredible work our T&O teams do, showcasing some of the specialised care delivered and welcoming you to meet the ward managers, current Healthcare Support Workers and members of the team across T&O!
The successful applicant will be supported by our nursing team to build on and develop skills, including support with completion of care certificate, band 3 Clinical skills, pre and post operative care, and even Spinal care.
We are constantly striving to learn, improve and drive change to overcome challenges and the Healthcare Support Worker role is essential to what we do. You'll be given the opportunity to attend specialty Study days and have support from our Ward Based Clinical Educators.

Main duties of the job
The main duties of the Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) - Clinical Care involve providing high-quality, safe, and compassionate care to patients under the supervision of registered professionals.
This includes assisting with personal care, nutrition, wound care, mobility, and infection control, as well as monitoring and recording vital signs, supporting patients with toileting and hygiene needs, and maintaining accurate documentation.
The role also involves communicating effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team, participating in audits and service improvement initiatives, supporting new staff and learners, and upholding NNUH's PRIDE values. Staff are expected to work flexibly across clinical areas while maintaining professionalism and adhering to Trust policies and procedures.
