You will help individual through one to one or group sessions with healthy eating and exercise plans, motivate and influence to change their pattern of behaviour and assist them in meeting their goals for weight loss and an overall healthier lifestyle.

Your Health Torbay, commissioned by Torbay Council
. This transformative service will play a central role in improving the health and well-being of residents of Torbay. The service will provide integrated behaviour support to help people move more, drink less alcohol, stop smoking and lose weight. The service will also offer advice and guidance and proactively signpost to relevant organisations. All of this is embedded in sustainable behaviour change and positive well-being.
Skills and Competencies Required
Be an experienced health coachin a community health environment, assisting and delivering on interventions such as physical activity, healthy eating, weight management, alcohol reduction and smoking cessation, behaviour change, well-being, and health promotion activities.
Experience of implementing and delivering behaviour change interventions.* Positive and proactive in your delivery approachwith the ability to motivate, engage and support individuals to achieve their targets and positive health outcomes.
Adept in communication*; A strong communicator who understands the needs of specific groups in the community and adapts the message to fit the needs of the target audiences with excellent listening skills and a non-judgmental and positive approach. Build strong relationships*; Foster trust and cooperation among service users, colleagues, stakeholders and community leaders. Value and remain open to new ideas and perspectives.*
Some of the essential criteria for the role:
Educated to degree level or demonstrable relevant equivalent experience.
Experience in delivering health promotion / public health interventions in community settings.
REPS qualified Level 2 Gym instructor/Group exercise award or equivalent (or willingness to obtain within 2 months of starting in the post).
Previous paid or voluntary experience working with people
Ability to manage stressful situations and cope in a fast-paced work environment.
Excellent administration, record keeping and data collection skills
The ability to travel independently across the organisational footprint.
Previous paid or voluntary experience working with people.
Good understanding of health and care pathways and population health management.
Work flexibly and adapt to suit service need including evening and weekend work as required.
