Rushmere Hall Primary School

are looking to recruit a

Hearing Specialist Base Teaching Assistant

to work in partnership with the Teacher of the Deaf and classroom teachers to ensure deaf pupils can access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.


This includes adapting learning materials where needed, managing hearing technology, supporting communication and language development in spoken English and BSL (British Sign Language) or SSE (Signed Supported English) according to each child's preferred mode of communication, and delivering timely interventions to address gaps in learning. The role also focuses on fostering pupils' independence, promoting achievement, and creating an inclusive environment that enables every child to thrive academically and socially.


A British Sign Language Level 1 qualification is essential, level 2 is desirable, and you should be well qualified and possess the confidence and skills in the person specification.
