Now we're looking for someone to take over the financial engine of our growing operation. Someone who can manage payroll, keep the books in perfect order, and help us prepare for serious growth and external funding.
What You'll Do
You'll be on-site at our Gilford factory, reporting to the Chief of Staff, CEO, and Factory Manager, running all core financial admin and accounting tasks:
Finance & Accounting
Keep daily bookkeeping fully up to date (bank recs, invoices, expenses, petty cash)
Produce monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
Manage cash flow and payment runs
Handle VAT returns and prep other filings (e.g. Companies House)
Manage accounts across multiple LTDs and a holding company structure
Payroll & People
Run monthly payroll for all staff
Track holiday pay, sick leave, pensions, and new starter paperwork
Be the go-to person for staff pay questions
Admin & Execution
Oversee all supplier and internal payments (securely, no full access)
Ensure books are clean, auditable, and investor-ready
Work closely with our external tax advisor on R&D credits and tax strategy
What Great Looks Like
You're disciplined and on top of everything, books are clean, payroll is correct, and the CEO never has to chase you.
You're proactive: if something looks off, you flag it
You keep everything compliant and run a tight ship
You're confident working solo, but clear in communication with the CEO and factory team
What You Bring
Experience with payroll, VAT, and monthly accounts
Comfortable being the main finance/admin person in a growing business
Strong attention to detail, nothing gets missed
Familiar with Xero, QuickBooks, or similar systems
Experience or a learning mind
R&D tax claims or preparing reports for lenders/investors
Managing accounts across group structures or multi-entity businesses
Use AI for book keeping potentially
Use AI for ideas and strategies
Full-time, based at our factory in Gilford, Co. Down (BT63 6DJ)
8:50am-6pm, Mon-Fri
28 days holiday per year

You won't be in meetings all day, we're not that kind of company.
The CEO knows the numbers inside out and expects clean books, clear reporting and problems flagged, not hand holding or long finance chats. If you do your job well, you'll get the autonomy and trust to own this fully.
