A full-time opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our team of 45 dietitians, dietetic assistants and administration at the Royal Surrey Hospital.
We are looking for somebody with an interest in Hepato-pancreatico-biliary (HPB) dietetics to p r ov i de d i e t e ti c sup p o r t for patients re qu i r i ng t r e a tm e nt f or H P B d i a g no s e s. The delivery of this service includes in-patients and out-patients as well as close liaison with the HPB MDT. We would like somebody who is proactive and has the initiative to develop and / or improve the efficiency of a service. You will be involved in delivering education sessions to healthcare professionals and patients.
You will join a forward-thinking dietetic team which undertakes the training of dietetic students, and also focuses on research and audit in its areas of activity to promote clinical effectiveness in patient care. To work with patients managing their pancreatic enzyme supplements, advising on dose changes, once signed off as competent to do so by the HPB Consultants. Also, to liaise with medical staff to identify patients at risk of malabsorption.

To audit working practices and service value. Methods that will be employed include continual review of present practice against service goals and documented standards e.g. NICE guidelines.
To initiate and participate in regular survey / audit which will enhance the dietetic care of the acute medical and / or surgical patient
To participate in data collection to measure activity and outcome
To actively participate in nutrition-related clinical trials at national and local level, as required, within funded time.
* To provide input to departmental meetings and Journal Clubs and contribute to the strategic aims of the department.
