About the role:





We are looking to appoint a part time Heritage Assistant to support and assist the museum team predominately at the reception desk.



This post will provide an important front-line role for all site visitors, and the success candidate will be expected to enthusiastically promote the heritage and tourism sites facilities.



This post will be primarily based at West Stow Country Park and occasionally at Moyse's Hall Museum.



Hours of work will be on a rota basis including weekends to ensure cover at the various sites. Weekend work is essential to this position.


What you will need:





The successful applicant will be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with a wide range of people and have physical skills to ensure the upkeep of the Museum setting. You will be required to assist and support Heritage Officers in the delivery of operational activities and projects, providing general administrative support as needed. You should be well organised and able to work effectively under pressure. You will need to use your own initiative as well as working effectively with the team. Some of the activities will include lone working as well as team projects.



You will preferably have experience of working with education groups and visitors and previous experience of working within a heritage/tourism or related area would be an advantage.
