to join our workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems on HGV trailers and Rigids to ensure they meet DVSA, manufacturer, and customer standards.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair electrical faults on HGV rigids and trailers, including lighting, ABS/EBS, braking, and ancillary systems
Install and maintain wiring looms, sockets, connectors, and control units
Carry out inspections, testing, and fault-finding using diagnostic equipment
Ensure all work complies with DVSA regulations
Complete job cards, inspection sheets, and electronic records accurately
Work collaboratively with fitters, welders, and workshop supervisors
Support trailer PDI, MOT preparation, and refurbishment work
Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment
Adhere to health & safety procedures at all times
At a later stage; install electrics on our Crane trailers (full training will be provided)
Required Skills & Experience

Essential:
Proven experience as an Auto Electrician on HGVs or trailers
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Knowledge of HGV electrical systems, including ABS/EBS
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams
Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
Formal qualification in Auto Electrical Engineering or similar
Experience working with trailer manufacturers or fleet operators
Familiarity with diagnostic systems
HGV licence (Class 1 or 2)
