Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Class 1 Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, with a focus on delivering goods safely and efficiently. This role requires strong communication skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to operate bulk tipper trailers. As a Truck Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism. The role involves short journeys from a quarry in Gateshead to a brick works on the A69. 6am start and no stopping out.

Responsibilities

Safely operate lorries to transport goods to designated locations. Conduct inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and quarry staff regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise. Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of items for transport. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road. Perform routine maintenance checks on the vehicle and report any mechanical issues promptly.

Experience

Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid driving licence suitable for lorries. Familiarity with tipping procedures. Previous experience. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clients.
