We are seeking a reliable and skilled self-employed Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle curtain side deliveries. The Truck Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of service.
Responsibilities
Operate a lorry in compliance with all traffic regulations and company policies.
Transport goods to designated locations, ensuring timely delivery.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and functionality.
Load and unload cargo, securing it properly for transport, particularly on trailers.
Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations while on the road and at delivery sites.
Requirements
Valid commercial driving licence (C+E) with a clean driving record.
Minimum 2 year experience for insurance purposes.
ADR license, especially category 9. Tanker is NOT needed.
Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting heavy items when necessary.
