Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Class 1, STGO CAT 2, Low Loader Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of heavy machinery, ensuring timely deliveries whilst adhering to all road safety regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to handle various types of loads.

Responsibilities

Operate a lorry in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations. Safely transport goods to designated locations, ensuring timely delivery. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Load and unload cargo, securing it appropriately for transport. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel usage. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to safety and operational efficiency.

Requirements

Valid Commercial Driving Licence with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated. Proven experience as a driver or in a similar role, low loader transporting heavy plant experience is essential. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws. Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshoot minor issues. Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently. Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude. Must be physically fit to handle loading and unloading tasks as required. Must be able to do overnights, when and if required.
