Responsibilities

Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles for long-distance freight deliveries, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations Manage the loading and unloading process at designated depots or customer sites with precision Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries while maintaining compliance with legal driving hours and rest periods Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure roadworthiness and safety standards are met

Skills

Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) license with recent driving experience in long-haul or tramper roles Knowledge of UK road networks, regulations, and compliance requirements for freight transportation Strong understanding of tachograph use, vehicle safety checks, and legal driving hours Excellent navigation skills with the ability to plan efficient routes under varying conditions Good communication skills for clear reporting and coordination with dispatch teams Ability to work independently, stay motivated during extended periods away from home Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules or route adjustments as needed
