Job Description

We are a reputable and growing logistics company based in Pontefract, and we are currently seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Class 2 Driver to join our dynamic team. This role involves the efficient and safe delivery of palletised goods using curtain-sided vehicles across the UK.

Responsibilities

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, your responsibilities will include:

Operating a Class 2 (Category C) vehicle in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all road traffic laws and company procedures. Performing multi-drop deliveries of palletised goods to various locations across the UK. Safely loading and unloading vehicles, ensuring the load is secure and compliant with regulations. Utilising curtain-sided vehicles, ensuring the load is correctly sheeted and un-sheeted as required. Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects promptly in line with DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) regulations. Maintaining accurate delivery records and vehicle documentation. Communicating effectively with transport planners and customers. Compliant to all relevant UK driver regulations, including working time directives and tachograph rules. Representing the company in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence (CPC) with a clean driving record. Experience as a HGV Class 2 driver or in a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with flatbed lorry operations is an advantage. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. A commitment to safety and customer service excellence.

Requirements:

Essential:

Possession of a valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving license. Valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification card. Valid Digital Tachograph card. Proven experience in driving HGV Class 2 vehicles. Experience with palletised delivery and the use of curtain-sided vehicles. A good understanding of UK road transport regulations, including driver hours and tachograph legislation. Ability to perform daily vehicle checks and report defects. Good communication and interpersonal skills. A responsible and safety-conscious attitude. Experience with specific route planning or electronic proof of delivery (EPOD) systems. A clean driving license
