We are looking for a dependable and experienced

LGV

Class 2 Driver

to join our growing team. You may be an experienced 12T Driver and happy to move up to higher weights with us. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of goods to various destinations. This position requires strong driving skills, basic vehicle maintenance knowledge, and excellent communication abilities to interact effectively with both clients and colleagues.

It's all about making a good impression with your appearance, time keeping, precision in driving, loading and unloading, and the look of your vehicle. You will ensure that goods are delivered in a first class condition, completing all necessary paperwork and above all, leaving everyone you meet with a really positive impression of you and our business.

We are looking for an experienced and proactive drivers to join our team at Wilby International and help us provide an exceptional level of service to our customers and fellow depots within the pallet network or other RHA members who we work closely with across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Drive a rigid vehicle (12T, 18T-26T) in accordance with road safety and transport regulations. Load and unload goods, ensuring all items are properly secured for transit. Fully versed in using PDAs and keeping any paperwork signed, safe and returned. Liaise with planners, warehouse and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delivery-related concerns. Carry out daily vehicle checks and perform basic maintenance or troubleshooting as needed. Maintain accurate delivery documentation and report any issues or discrepancies encountered during transport. Support general warehouse operations, including inventory control and goods organisation. Keep the vehicle clean, tidy, and in good working order at all times. Fully trained and experienced in load security and used to adhering to site health and safety protocols.

Requirements

A valid UK driving licence with the correct entitlement for LGV Class 2 vehicles. Previous driving experience in a similar role is advantageous. Strong verbal communication skills to interact with customers and team members professionally. Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics and troubleshooting. Ability to work independently and as part of a warehouse team. A professional and proactive attitude with a focus on providing excellent service.
