Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving and have experience with curtain side deliveries. This role is essential for ensuring the timely and safe transportation of goods to various destinations. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent driving skills, great communication skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to navigate various road conditions and use a PDA effectively.

Responsibilities

Operate a rigid curtainside lorry to transport goods to designated locations safely and efficiently. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport. Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required by company policies. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards during all operations.

Requirements

Valid commercial driving licence (CPC) with a clean driving record. Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with flatbed lorries. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving. Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Good physical fitness, as the role may involve lifting heavy items and manual handling tasks. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well independently or as part of a team.
