Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HGV Class 2 Driver to join our logistics team in Lincoln. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, ensuring timely deliveries and collections while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. This role requires a commitment to customer service and the ability to manage routes effectively.

Duties

Operate a lorry in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is roadworthy and safe for operation. Load and unload goods, including securing items as necessary. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents that may occur during transit. Communicate with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.

Experience

Proven experience in commercial driving is essential, with a valid HGV licence. Previous experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with Curtain sided vehicle operations is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively. Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach are essential for success in this role.
