We are seeking an experienced, reliable and skilled Class 2 Driver for our REL (Ashcart) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating refuse/recycling vehicles as you will be responsible for collecting general waste, cardboard, paper and confidential waste from multiple customers safely and efficiently from various locations throughout Wales including but not limited to, Llandow, Cowbridge, Llantwit Major, St Athan, Barry, Bridgend, Penarth, Cardiff, Newport, Cwmbran, Pontypool, Caerphilly, Swansea and Neath Port Talbot. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage collection schedules effectively. You will be working alone, and so you must be a self-motivator with a "can-do" attitude and a strong work ethic.
Previous experience collecting refuse/recycling is a must for this role.
Duties
Operate REL in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
Accurately operate the REL Tablet
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and functionality.
Empty bins, ensuring proper securing of loads for safe transport.
Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of vehicle maintenance.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
Liaise with Main Office, reporting any issues with collections/deliveries.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures while on the road.
Experience
Proven experience as a refuse collector or in a similar role is essential.
Valid commercial driving licence (CDL) is required, with a clean driving record.
Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving.
