690 weekly (35,880 per annum) . Plus, overnight rates.

After 3 months probationary period, should you be successful the pay will rise to 720 per week (annually 37,440)

The Affordable Group manufactures windows & doors and has been established for over 30 years and supplies the building trade throughout the UK. We have doubled our turnover over the last 5 years and now employ over 300 staff in Blackpool and Poulton-Le-Fylde.

The Affordable Group is a "John Lewis " type of business where employees [ with 12 months of service ] receive a share in the profits. The profit share for 2023 & 2024 after deductions for every employee was 2000.

We believe in promotion from within and almost all senior management started as junior employees.

Due to their success, AWS are now in a position to offer a fantastic opportunity for Class 2 HGV drivers to join their despatch team. This job requires professional drivers to load & deliver goods throughout the UK in order to satisfy the ever expanding customer demand.

The company operate on a multidrop delivery basis which often requires drivers to be out on sleeper cab overnight stays in order to meet the business demands. In return, successful applicants will be offered a very competitive salary which will ultimately include a generous company bonus on completion of a set period of employment.

Job Requirements

Must hold relevant HGV licenses to fulfil driving role

Must have a current digital tachograph card

Must hold a current CPC (Certificate Of Professional Competence Card)

Must be able to facilitate overnight sleeper cab stays when required

Must have an excellent attendance Record

Multidrop experience would be advantageous

Job Specification (Skill / Knowledge Requirements)

1. Read / understand and complete company loading / delivery paperwork

2. Plan / organise efficient delivery routes accurately in order of delivery

3. Accurately pick and load windows/doors/components in line with company paperwork

4. Safely load and secure customer orders in delivery order

5. Carryout daily vehicle / trailer inspections in line with Company / DVSA requirements

6. Understand and deploy current driving rules / regulations in line with company / DVSA legislation

7. Report vehicle / trailer defects / problems to designated company personnel

8. Assess load and delivery route for potential dangers / problems

9. Carry-out multi-drop deliveries efficiently in line with agreed route and drop order

10. Report deviations / problems regarding all aspects of assigned deliveries

11. Effectively communicate all aspects of work with Line Manager / work colleagues / customers where necessary /appropriate

12. Document / communicate the receipt of cash / cheques in line with company procedures

13. Maintain effective team working relationships

14. Carryout work in line with Company / Health & Safety Executive legislation

Person Specification (Personal Attribute Requirements)

1. Hold relevant Driving License, CPC and Tachograph Driver Card

2. Have excellent attendance record

3. Have good UK geographical knowledge of UK roads / routes

4. Able to pay attention to detail

5. Communicate effectively

6. Be able to carry out overnight working arrangements

7. Be polite and able to create good customer service relationships

8. Able to provide 2 recent references one of which is from current / last employer
