Class 2 Depot Driver - Permanent position

Smales are a national supplier of Frozen Fish, Seafood and catering products to the Fish & Chip sector, and fast food wholesalers, with heritage dating back to the 1937, and are a business built on providing our customers with a friendly, reliable and efficient delivery service. Our drivers engage with our customer's day in, day out, and they provide a great customer focus and a professional face for our business.

We require a Class 2 driver to join the team at our depot in Stoke On Trent, delivering to customers throughout the Midlands, Nottinghamshire, Wales and Lancashire 5 days per week. Reporting directly to the Depot Manager your duties will include: -

Delivering products in a clean & tidy manner directly to Smales' customers on an assigned route, providing a high standard of customer service.

Completing a daily vehicle and auxiliary equipment check before the vehicle leaves site and reporting any defects using the agreed vehicle defect procedure.

Ensure all relevant documentation including delivery notes, proof of delivery, and return notes are completed accurately with required information, and returned to site on a daily basis.

Between 8-12 deliveries daily (average) so you will need to be physically active as the job can involve lifting products.

. On occassion, when required, delivering a route that will require 2-3 nights out. There is a supplementary payment of 100 during April-September and 75 during October-March for doing this, plus 25 night-out allowance for each evening spent out.

We require a full, clean Class 2 driving licence (or no more than 6 points), valid CPC card and experience of multi drop deliveries - full training will be given and a counterbalance forklift qualification would be desirable but not essential. We provide a minimum of 30 days holiday rising to 33 days with service, pension and being paid on a weekly basis.
