We're currently looking for reliable and experienced HGV Class 2 Refuse Drivers to join our team in Brighton and Hove. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled drivers seeking secure, long-term work, great pay, and a supportive team environment.

Inductions 04/11/2025 - you must be available for this date onwards.

Schedule

Monday to Friday - Weekend Overtime available. AM Shift - 06:00-14:00 PM Shift - 12:30-21:00
(Please note that start times car vary by an hour each way, and shifts may run longer)

Pay Rates

(including holiday pay)

Weekday (06:00-20:00): 19.57/hour Weeknight (20:00-06:00): 26.10/hour Weekend Day (06:00-20:00): 29.37/hour Weekend Night (20:00-06:00): 38.90/hour Bank Holidays: 370.95 per shift

Your Role

As a Class 2 Refuse Driver, you'll play a vital part in keeping Brighton & Hove clean and green. Your main duties will include:

Safely operating a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle. Leading and supporting your crew on collection routes. Collecting and emptying commercial and residential waste and recycling bins. Reporting any vehicle issues, missed collections, or route problems to the Transport Team. Rarely assisting with loading when required (this may include walking long distances and handling bins). Attending mandatory training and following all Health & Safety regulations. Completing regular licence and compliance checks.
Full training and route familiarisation will be provided.

What We're Looking For

Valid Class 2 LGV/HGV licence (maximum 6 penalty points) Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card Minimum 1 year of Class 2 driving experience in the UK Refuse driving experience preferred, but not essential Physically fit and comfortable with some manual work Reliable, safety-focused, and professional when dealing with the public Happy to work outdoors in all weather conditions
