AE Burgess & Sons Ltd is a leading independent/owner managed waste management company based in Leicester LE4, and has serviced the Leicestershire area for over 100 years.

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Class 2 HGV Skip Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely delivering/exchanging/collecting skips from domestic and commercial customers while ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and customer service.

Pay 14.50 per hour up to 50 hours, 17 per hour thereafter, occasional Saturday morning.

20 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Responsibilities

To drive Company vehicles in a safe and legal manner whilst keeping service levels high and ensuring daily work is completed. Complete all daily vehicle checks and report and follow up Vehicle Defects at the start of shift and end of shift. Complete all allocated work within the working day, and liaise with Transport Office regarding issues onsite to resolve promptly and efficiently Ensure jobs are completed properly and timely on hand held tablets, customer signatures obtained, waste analysis performed correctly, and identification of waste types in skips different to that booked Maintain regular communication with the Transport Office and report any issues/incidents immediately. As a brand representative of the Company behave in a polite and professional manner at all times. Ensure your vehicle is kept in a good, clean condition. Load and unload the vehicle adhering to Safe Working Procedures and Risk Assessments. Wear appropriate PPE at all times and adhere to specific customer site requirements where necessary Report all accidents and incidents immediately and obtain details as required. Comply with all Health, Safety, HR, Quality and Environmental policies and procedures. The above list is not exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post.

Experience

Proven experience as a Skip Driver in the Waste Industry preferred Valid commercial driving licence with a clean driving record and up to date CPC Good knowledge of the Leicestershire area Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients and team members efficiently.
