Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage routes effectively.

Duties

Operate a flatbed lorry for the transportation of goods to various locations. Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, securing it properly for transit. Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle before and after trips, reporting any maintenance issues promptly. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel consumption. Follow all traffic laws and regulations to ensure safe driving practices. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Assist in planning efficient delivery routes to optimise time and fuel usage.

Skills

Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles. Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in transportation. Excellent navigation skills with the ability to read maps and use GPS technology effectively. Good physical fitness, as the role may require lifting heavy items during loading and unloading processes. Strong communication skills to interact with clients and team members professionally. Ability to work independently while managing time effectively to meet delivery deadlines.
