Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations. The successful applicant will have experience in commercial driving, particularly with curtainside vehicles, and will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries.

Salary is 50500 per year(night out included) plus 28 days holiday. Ongoing work, this is not temporary.

Requirements :

At least 30 years old for insurance purposes

Have all the qualifications necessary for operating class 1 HGV for general haulage.

Class 1 licence with maximum three points held for at least 5 years.

Pass a small assessment (30 to 60 minutes),paid after first week of work, which will be held on a weekend.

About the job:

Tramping Monday to Friday on curtainsider doing general haulage. Most of the work is around England and sometimes Scotland and South Wales. No DVS permit so no London driving.

The vehicle is clean and tidy equipped with microwave and all the tools needed to ease the driver's work. Full PPE is offered.

Duties

Operate a lorry to deliver goods to designated locations while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition. Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of items on curtainside trailers. Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of vehicle maintenance. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transport. Follow company policies and procedures for safe driving practices at all times.

Skills

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar commercial driving role. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws. Ability to operate curtainside vehicles safely and efficiently. Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members. Attention to detail, particularly in maintaining accurate logs and ensuring cargo security.
