Job Summary

Wm. Russell & Sons are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Tipper & Grab Drivers to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction with driving and mechanical knowledge, ensuring the safe and efficient transport of materials on site. This role is crucial in maintaining our commitment to excellent service and construction deadlines.

Responsibilities

Operate lorries in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working order, reporting any mechanical issues promptly. Load and unload material, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times. Communicate effectively with site managers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while on the road and at loading/unloading sites.

Requirements

Valid commercial driving licence (C+E) with a clean driving record.. Ability to dig into tasks as needed, demonstrating a hands-on approach to problem-solving. Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, colleagues, and management. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.

Hours of attendance Monday - Friday 06:00 - 17:00/17:30 Hourly rate of pay will be 13.75 per hour, rising to 20.63 after 40 hours. Fully paid breaks.
