Overview

Established in the Specialised Car Transportation/Logistics industry for over 20 years, working with major motor manufacturers.

We are seeking a reliable, conscientious and skilled driver who is also happy to carry out other non-driving duties, to join our small friendly team operating throughout the UK and Europe and very occasionally even further afield. A clean, valid commercial driving licence to at least Class 2 is required for this position.

Duties

Operate any of our small fleet of trucks safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Maintain our trucks on a daily basis to ensure they are always clean, roadworthy and ready for use. Deliver vehicles to location and present them with an attention to detail that is 'second to none'. Plan routes effectively and maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and fuel consumption as required by law. Prepare vehicles for display purposes. Provide technical/valeting support for promotional photography both on location and in studio as and when required. Good presentation and communication skills when dealing with clients during deliveries. Various other duties around the premises as the need arises.

Requirements

Valid commercial driving licence (Minimum C or equivalent) with a clean driving record and up to date CPC qualifications. Proven experience as an HGV driver, ideally in transporting cars/vans. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in transportation. Ability to perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading vehicles. Excellent time management skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Good interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and professionally with clients and colleagues. Some mechanical knowledge would be an advantage. Have a pro-active attitude towards daily tasks. Willingness to be flexible, as hours can be unpredictable and some weekend work/'nights away' will be required.
