Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team, where you will be assisting with the loading/unloading, steering and escorting of some of the largest loads moved on the UK road network.

Applicants must hold a valid car driving license and be physically fit, as the role includes manual handling.

Responsibilities

Operate lorries in a safe and responsible manner while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Execute deliveries efficiently, ensuring that goods are transported securely and on time. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or delays. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues. Assist with loading and unloading cargo, ensuring proper handling techniques are used, particularly for flatbed deliveries. Uphold high standards of customer service while interacting with clients during delivery.

Experience

Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver is essential. Familiarity with low loader lorry operations is highly desirable. A valid and clean driving license. Strong navigation skills and familiarity with local routes are beneficial. Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently are crucial for success in this role.
