Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. A Hiab certificate with Muck grab experience would be preferred but not essential. As training would be provided. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting and collecting inert waste and goods, safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to perform basic mechanical tasks when necessary.

Responsibilities

Operate lorries in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring timely delivery of goods. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery records. Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered on the road. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, promoting a culture of safety. Perform basic mechanical checks and maintenance on the vehicle as needed.

Experience

A valid commercial driving licence is essential for this role. Previous experience in a similar driving position is preferred but not mandatory. Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for performing routine checks and minor repairs. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during deliveries. A commitment to providing excellent customer service during interactions with clients.
