Overview

Flawborough Farms is a family-owned business specialising in agricultural contracting. The business is looking for an HGV Lorry Driver with experience in Walking Floor trailers or tippers. The driver will ideally be able to sleep out at least 3 nights a week. This role offers the opportunity to operate heavy-duty vehicles, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods from biogas plants to farms and field clamps. Full training will be given on the job, but the role will require the driver to load the lorry himself using a loading shovel.

Duties

Haulage of bulk commodities and liquid from our farms to internal stores and clamps. Managing your own workload under the supervision of the Transport Manager in accordance with all working time legislation applicable to your position. Demonstrate a proactive attitude and commitment to health and safety. Complete all required paperwork in a well-presented and timely manner. Weighing products in and out of store / clamps, meeting delivery deadlines, and ensuring the correct maintenance of vehicles. Coordination with the Farming and AD teams to ensure efficient operation of the haulage department. Ensure the high standard of appearance of vehicles is maintained inside and out. Compliance with the Flawborough Farms driver's handbook, reporting of defects, other haulage and driving duties as required. Safely operate HGV lorries with walking floor trailers, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and road laws Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling techniques Drive route schedules efficiently, maintaining punctuality and delivering excellent customer service at each stop Load and secure cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit Conduct routine vehicle inspections, report any maintenance issues promptly, and ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition

Skills

Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with walking floors or similar heavy vehicles. Strong customer service skills to ensure positive interactions during deliveries and pickups Familiarity with route driving, navigation tools, and adherence to delivery schedules Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles confidently and safely Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance with transport regulations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 12.58-15.00 per hour
