This is an excellent role for a 'hands on' individual looking to work within a busy environment for a growing business on long term projects for SPEN and SSE.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for working with HGV and light commercial vehicles.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities
Routine servicing and inspections of a mixed fleet of vehicles to meet legislative and VOSA requirements, including HGV's, vans and small plant trailers.
Prepare, present and accompany all vehicles for annual MOT Inspections
Diagnose faults and perform timely repairs to minimise downtime.
Out of Hours Call Out (occasionally)
Maintaining a comprehensive record system for all vehicles to DVSA Inspection manual standards
Ensure all relevant legislation and Health and Safety procedures are adhered to
Carry out any other duties, as instructed by the supervisory staff, which are commensurate to the Grade of this post.
To be considered for this role, you should have: -
Proven experience working on large and small commercial vehicles
Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic fault-finding skills.
HGV Driving licence (desirable)
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Good communication skills and a practical, problem-solving mindset.
Computer Literacy - basic understanding of word, excel and an ability to use mobile technology - apps and diagnostic equipment
Qualifications required - NVQ or equivalent in HGV Maintenance
