About the Role

As a driver for NYA & SONS Trans Ltd, your primary responsibility will be the safe, efficient, and professional delivery of goods to various destinations across the UK. We operate modern, well-maintained vehicles and offer consistent, reliable work. Your daily tasks may include container deliveries from ports, transporting palletised goods, operating curtain side vehicles for general freight, or handling rigid and 7.5t deliveries for local and regional routes.

Key Responsibilities

Carrying out container deliveries, palletised goods, curtain side work, and rigid/7.5t deliveries as required. Performing daily vehicle checks to ensure safety and compliance. Safely securing loads and ensuring goods are delivered in perfect condition. Adhering to all UK road transport legislation, including drivers' hours and tachograph regulations. Completing all delivery paperwork, including PODs, manifests, and digital records accurately and on time. Communicating effectively with the transport office regarding any delays, route changes, or issues. Maintaining a professional attitude and excellent customer service at all times.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following essential criteria:

A valid UK driving licence with the appropriate categories (HGV Class 1, Class 2 or 7.5t depending on role). A valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card. Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience (preferred but not always essential for the right candidate). Good knowledge of UK road networks and driving regulations. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Strong communication and customer service skills. A positive, professional attitude and commitment to safety.
