Overview

We are a family run company operating some 50 vehicles from our site in Kirkby-in-Ashfield.

We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background with experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy goods vehicles. This role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Duties

As an HGV Technician, your responsibilities will include:

Performing routine maintenance and repairs on our modern fleet of heavy goods vehicles, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Conducting diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify mechanical and electrical issues. Utilising hand tools and power tools for assembly, repair, and maintenance tasks. Reading and interpreting schematics to assist in repairs and installations. MOT preparation Servicing and inspections and completing relevant paperwork correctly Off site repairs and servicing of customers HGV vehicles Providing excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs. Road side breakdowns, sometimes out of hours Performing heavy lifting as required during the repair process.

Experience

The successful candidate will have:

Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance or repair. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. A strong understanding of assembly processes related to heavy goods vehicles. HGV Class 1 licence would be advantageous

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday 08.00-17.00

Saturday 08.00-13.00
