Class 1 HGV Tanker Driver

Based out of our Warrington operating centre. We are recruiting general purpose tanker drivers.

John Miller operates a modern general purpose tanker fleet, transporting diesel, biodiesel and tallow across England and Scotland. Our tanker fleet makes deliveries 363 days a year to support our customers. The fleet is made up of DAFs and Scanias, all the trucks are less than 5 years old.

New starts will be given training to ensure they understand the procedures of John Miller and the customer. Training will be signed off once the new start can safely and confidently load and unload with both compressor and pump. GP tank experience is required, and an ADR qualification is not essential but would be an advantage.

Our drivers set high standards, they take pride in their work, their trucks and the tankers they pull. The successful candidates will therefore need to take pride in every aspect of their work.

Job description

The successful candidate will work a 5-day week (Monday to Friday), averaging between 60 and 65 hours a week, with 4 nights out. However, there is the opportunity to get home the odd night during the week. The driver will collect and deliver Diesel, Biodiesel (non hazardous), Tallow (non hazardous) and Mixed Oils (non hazardous) across England using a general-purpose tanker to pump loads on and blow loads off. The truck can be based at either our Stoke or Warrington operating centres.

Rates of pay

Monday to Friday 14.10 an hour (full spread, including breaks) Saturday 15.00 an hour Sunday 17.00 an hour Night out payment 31.20 (tax free) Weekly meal allowance payment 10 (tax free) Weekly bonus 50.00
