Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to perform basic mechanical tasks as needed.

Duties

Operate lorries in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Load and unload goods, ensuring that they are secured properly for transport. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transport. Perform basic mechanical maintenance on the vehicle as required, including troubleshooting minor issues. Follow all company policies regarding safety and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

Valid commercial driving licence (C+E or equivalent) is essential. Experience in commercial driving is preferred; familiarity with digger transportation is a plus. Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively. Strong communication skills for liaising with team members and clients. A commitment to safety and adherence to all relevant regulations.
