Overview

We are seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in maintaining and repairing trailers. This role requires proficiency in using power tools, understanding electrical systems, and the ability to read schematics. The successful applicant will be dedicated to providing excellent customer service while ensuring that all work meets high-quality standards.

Duties

Assemble and maintain trailer components, ensuring they are functioning correctly. Perform mechanical repairs and troubleshooting on various trailer systems. Fabricate parts as necessary to ensure trailers are operational and safe. Conduct electrical repairs, including soldering connections and wiring. Utilise power tools effectively and safely for various tasks. Interpret schematics to diagnose issues and implement solutions. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance. Operate forklifts safely when moving trailers or equipment within the workshop.

Experience

Proven experience as a Trailer Mechanic or in a similar role is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in trailer assembly and repair. Familiarity with electrical systems related to trailers, including the ability to solder and work with wiring. Experience using power tools and understanding of safety protocols in a workshop environment. Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately. Previous customer service experience is advantageous, demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively with clients. Forklift certification is a plus but can be provided if necessary.
